CPA Tax Professional Tax & Business Services Department

Description:

To accommodate our continued growth, Hamilton & Musser, PC is currently searching for a full time professional staff with 5+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will be an organized, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and follow-up skills.  The successful candidate will be personable, able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple responsibilities, and able to work well with clients and staff.  This position will require the candidate to be working in our office.  This is not a remote work position.  Future firm ownership potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tax compliance and advisory services for a variety of tax clients, including preparing tax returns for individual, pass-through and corporate entities
  • Identify, research, and advise clients on tax matters
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain and strengthen existing client and referral relationships
  • Recognize additional service opportunities for existing clients
  • Responsible for managing client accounts and signing tax returns for a book of business.
  • Assist other staff as needed in a team environment

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 5+ years experience
  • CPA license or demonstrated commitment to obtain a CPA license
  • 5+ years public accounting experience
  • Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with UltraTax and PPC software
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator
  • Detail oriented

Compensation:

Starting salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Team members also benefit from a generous benefits package, including a 401k program with a company match. Tax Preparer

Description:    

To accommodate our continued growth, Hamilton & Musser, PC is looking for part-time or full-time tax preparers at various skill and experience levels for tax season and possibly beyond.  The candidate will primarily prepare tax returns for individuals.  Preparation of corporate, partnership, non-profit, and estate/trust tax returns may be available for candidates who have the desire and/or appropriate experience.  This position will require the candidate to be working in our office.  This is not a remote work position.  Work hours are flexible based on candidate availability and personal schedule.

Qualifications (preferred but not required):

  • Tax preparation experience
  • Ability to interact/communicate with clients
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • CPA or EA license 
  • UltraTax CS software experience 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • QuickBooks experience 

Compensation: 

  • Hourly (varies based on experience)

About Our Audit Team Members

The Audit Team at H&M is just that – a team. We come from a wide variety of professional backgrounds, each one uniquely contributing to where we are today. As a member of the Audit Team, you will have the ability to act in various different capacities on multiple clients. By differentiating the capacity of each member, it allows us all the opportunity to keep our technical skills sharp while also expanding our personal and professional leadership abilities.

Responsibilities:

In a typical day, an audit team member will:

  • Plan, execute, and follow up on assigned engagements and tasks
  • Work alongside team members to find solutions to client questions
  • Use Excel and other Microsoft products to prepare financial statements and related notes
  • Communicate with clients in-person, over the phone, or remotely to answer questions and conduct fieldwork

Qualifications:          

Individuals interested in joining our audit team will:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
  • Have a CPA license or demonstrated commitment to obtain a CPA license

Other Information:

Auditing experience of any kind is welcomed, but not required. H&M will provide the necessary on-the-job training needed to be successful as a team member. Candidates looking to join us will approach all opportunities with a growth mindset and a willingness to learn.
